Our first Forward Deployed Engineer cohort is running now. Rather than wait and then publish whichever figures happen to flatter us, we have written down in advance exactly what we will report, how each number is counted, and the date it goes live. Most academies show you a result. We are showing you the method first.
Five numbers, defined in advance
A placement statistic is only as honest as its definition. These are ours, fixed in advance — which is the only point at which a definition can be set without knowing which one would look better.
Cohort size, and how many finished
How many people enrolled, and how many met the attendance and capstone criteria. Reported as two separate numbers. Every percentage below is calculated against everyone who enrolled — not against a filtered subset of 'eligible' or 'active' learners, which is the usual way a completion figure gets inflated.
How many got interviews through us
The number of learners who received at least one interview arranged through our hiring partners or a direct referral, and the total number of interviews arranged. Interviews a learner sourced themselves are excluded — we did not cause those.
How many received an offer
Offers received within 180 days of the cohort finishing, whether or not the learner accepted. We will state how many accepted separately, because someone turning down an offer is not a failure of the programme.
Compensation, only if there is enough data
Median and full range for those who report it — never an average, which one large figure distorts, and never a 'top 25%' number quoted on its own. If fewer than ten learners report compensation we will say the sample is too small to publish a median and give the range only.
How many people we actually heard from
The response rate to the outcomes survey, and what we assume about non-responders. A 90% placement figure drawn from a 30% response rate is not a 90% placement figure, and we will show you the denominator so you can judge it yourself.
Written while it still costs us nothing
We publish it even when it is bad
The report goes out on the stated date regardless of what it says. If the first cohort's numbers are weak, that is what you will read here, with our explanation of why and what changed as a result.
The definitions above are frozen
They were written before the data existed, which is the only time you can set a definition honestly. If we ever change one, the change and the reason will be shown on this page alongside the old wording.
Market data is never presented as our result
Industry demand and salary figures elsewhere on this site carry their source and are labelled as market context. They describe a market, not our learners, and they will never appear inside an outcomes report.
No learner appears without written permission
Names, photographs, employers and quotes are published only with explicit consent, and any learner can withdraw and be removed.
