The short answer

In-person interviews in Delhi NCR are often held inside an office campus or a Special Economic Zone, with security at the outer gate, again at the tower, and once more at the company's floor. The candidates who arrive calm have usually done three things the day before: asked the recruiter for the exact tower and gate, set aside the right ID and documents, and worked out the last kilometre from the metro. This checklist runs in the order you will meet each step.

The day before: questions for the recruiter

Send these in one short message. Recruiters generally prefer one clear message to five separate calls.

  1. 1Full address with tower, floor and gate number. Large campuses have several gates, and some are for vehicles only.
  2. 2Is a visitor pass raised in advance? At some sites the company must pre-register you, and the gate will not let you in until it does.
  3. 3Which ID should I carry? Some gates accept any government photo ID; others ask for a specific one.
  4. 4Can I bring a laptop? SEZ and client-site security may record or restrict laptops and storage devices. If you are asked to do a practical test, ask whether a machine will be provided.
  5. 5Who do I ask for at reception, and what is their number?
  6. 6How many rounds on the day, and roughly how long? This decides whether you need lunch and a phone charger.

Reading the address before you plan the route

NCR office addresses carry a lot of information once you know how to read them.

Address saysWhat it usually tells youWhat to check
"Sector 62, Noida" or "Sector 125, Noida"A numbered Noida sector; Sector 62 has a Blue Line station, while along the expressway only some sectors (such as 137 and 142–148) have an Aqua Line stationWhich metro station is nearest and how far the walk is
"NSEZ, Noida"The Noida Special Economic Zone, which has an Aqua Line station named NSEZGate rules at the zone boundary
"Cyber City, Gurugram" or "DLF Phase 2/3"Served by Rapid Metro Gurugram, with Sikanderpur as the interchange from the Yellow LineWhich Rapid Metro station is closest to the tower
"Okhla Phase I/II/III" or "Jasola"South-east Delhi, near the Violet Line (Jasola Apollo, Harkesh Nagar Okhla)The exact phase, since phases are spread apart
"Aerocity"Delhi Aerocity station on the Airport Express LineWhether your interview building is walkable from the station

The folder to carry

Pack this the night before, in a transparent sleeve so you can show items at a gate without unpacking your bag:

  • Original government photo ID, plus one photocopy.
  • The interview invitation, printed and on your phone (a screenshot works offline).
  • Two printed copies of your resume, the same version you applied with.
  • Printed copies of mark sheets and certificates only if the recruiter asked for them. Carry originals only when told to.
  • A pen, since some gate registers are paper.
  • A power bank and cable; a long day of rounds drains a phone used for navigation.
  • If there is a practical round: a one-page note of the SQL functions and Excel formulas you know well. Do not use it during the test, but a last look before you go in helps.

Timing the arrival

Work backwards from your slot. The walk from station to tower is where most people run late.

StepAllow
Buffer at the company reception10 minutes
Floor or tower security and lift10 minutes
Campus gate registration10–15 minutes
Last kilometre from the station (walk, e-rickshaw or cab)Check the map; walking is slower than the straight-line distance suggests
Metro journey, including interchangesJourney planner time, plus 10 minutes

For an 11:00 a.m. slot, that often means leaving home well before the peak crowd eases. If a route involves an interchange such as Botanical Garden (Blue–Magenta), Noida Sector 52/51 (Blue–Aqua, via a footbridge) or Sikanderpur (Yellow–Rapid Metro), add time for the walk between lines.

At the gate and at the desk

A few things that are easy to forget under pressure:

  • Say the company name and your contact's name together. "Interview with [company], meeting [name] on floor 7" gets you through faster than the company name alone.
  • Keep your ID out until you are seated. You may be asked for it twice.
  • Switch your phone to silent, not off. Recruiters sometimes call with a room change.
  • Ask where the practical round happens. If it is on a shared machine, check the keyboard layout and which tools are installed before the timer starts.

Practising the practical round

Many analyst interviews in NCR include a short task: clean a small spreadsheet, write two SQL queries, or explain a chart. Practise under realistic conditions: 30 minutes, an unfamiliar dataset, and a one-paragraph written answer at the end. The skill check compares your resume with an analyst job description if you want to see where your gaps are.

Timed tasks of this kind are regular practice in the Data Analyst programme, a 3–4 month course taught live online.

Frequently asked questions

Why do SEZ offices ask for ID at the gate?

A Special Economic Zone has a controlled perimeter, so visitors usually pass through a security gate before reaching a company's own reception. Carry an original government photo ID and your interview invitation, and ask the recruiter in advance whether a visitor pass must be raised by the company.

How early should I reach an interview in an NCR office campus?

Plan to be at the campus gate about 30 to 40 minutes before your slot. Gate registration, a walk between towers and a second check at the company's floor can each take time, and the last kilometre from a metro station is often the slowest part.
